The Happiest Part of Traveling is This

If you follow Position Mobile blog you might already know that our colleagues from other offices of the SPE Group around the world, have recently visited our Polarity team in Cyprus. Many members of the SPE Group get the opportunity to travel quite often, especially now that the pandemic is over (or not).

Traveling to other offices is a great chance for us to meet other teams in person and of course to explore new places and cultures. Business traveling can often be combined with a short getaway and be a recharging experience that makes people excited and happy.

“According to a 2010 psychological study about the connection between anticipation and happiness that was published in the journal Applied Research in Quality of Life, just planning or anticipating your trip can make you happier than actually taking it. The authors of the study, researchers from the Netherlands, interviewed 1,530 people, including 974 vacationers, and found that the vacationers felt most happy before their trips.”

Long story short, if your obligations do not allow you to travel right now, schedule your next trip as this will give you nearly equal pleasure and happiness. The internet nowadays enables us to get a good sense of the destination we are planning to visit. We can decide and plan beforehand nearly everything. This includes sights we would like to visit, museums, galleries, theme parks, restaurants and beach bars we would like to go to. We can even book the activities we wish to do on our trip, such as parachuting, scuba diving and safari.

The good news are that most airlines have introduced penalty-free cancellation and changes on flights the last couple of years. So we can book our flight now and change it later if needed, for free.
