New Instagram Feature Lets You Post ‘Notes’ For Your Followers

As Position Mobile has learned from The Verge, a test of a new tool on Instagram that allows you to post a text message to your followers looks to be developing. The feature may be found in the app’s messages section, just below the search bar, when it becomes available.

“People won’t be notified when you leave a note. They can see your note for 24 hours and reply with a message” XDA Developers reports.

XDA shows the feature running on various devices, which signals that its availability is spreading. The feature was being tested with a small number of people. According to TechCrunch, notes can have up to 60 characters.

These notes’ vanishing feature makes them mimic text-based variations of Instagram Stories, which usually focus on images and videos rather than words.

It’s unclear when the notes feature test may be widely released because Instagram didn’t respond to a request for comment on the apparent expansion of the test right away.
